The most important thing that happens in a Game On! class is Play. We organize full-on, super-fun physical games, like kids are meant to play – with real friends in real life. They get to move their bodies, sweat, breathe hard, and laugh a lot.
In between rounds of play, kids meet in a Talking Circle to debrief. Here they are immersed in a full-on Social Emotional Learning curriculum (shhh, don’t tell them) focused on Awareness and Compassion for themselves and for others.
The semester culminates with a final, big event; the Summit. Students all come together on a weekend to represent their schools in formal competitions against other schools. Also, students get a chance to lead parents through a demo class, so parents can get a feel for what their kids have learned.
